1788 Connecticut Copper. Mailed Bust Left. Miller 11-G. Rarity 2. VF35+. A beautiful, fully original, smooth, glossy, chocolate brown example of the Mailed Bust Left type. Die clashing seen in field between TORI and face, R to forehead and back of the head. None of the common planchet cutter clips that plague this variety. Reverse shows little or no evidence of clashing. Late die state break at first I on reverse is evident. Some tiny, scattered, contact marks do not stop this piece from being recognized as virtually perfect for the grade.
