1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 18-M. R2. Curved Plow Beam, Wide Shield, Bridle. PCGS VF-20. 129.44 grains. Early die state (mid DS1 and 2), as the break that becomes what is known as the bridle shows only slight evidence of beginning. There are also three curious raised dots in front of the horse's breast. Uniformly porous dark brown surfaces. Well centered, with all devices, lettering, and date detail strong.

Provenance: Norman G. Peters Collection sold by Stacks Bowers, November 2021 in their Baltimore Auction, Lot #8786 (realized $600 in that sale). Comes with the original Stacks Bowers auction sticker.
